National Teaching Institute - NTI       Due Date MARCH 26TH
This scholarship for $1000.00 is to be used for expenses to attend the annual AACN National Teaching Institute. Multiple awarded.
 Julie Wooden Gates NTI Award - Due Date MARCH 26TH
The scholarship for $1250.00 is named after a local Greater Kansas City Chapter member. It is awarded to an experienced “seasoned” critical care nurse to attend the NTI for the first time. A brief essay is to be completed. Please see the Julie Wooden Gates NTI Scholarship information. This scholarship is to be used for expenses to attend the annual AACN National Teaching Institute. One awarded.

Ron Bruch and Caryl Goodyear-Bruch National Teaching Institute Scholarship 
Due Date MARCH 26TH
This scholarship is for $500.00 is named after a local Greater Kansas City Chapter member and National AACN Past President and her husband. It is awarded through the Truman Heartland Community Foundation to cover expenses to attend the NTI. It is suggested that the immediate past president of the Greater Kansas City Chapter of AACN apply for this scholarship, but all members are able apply. ​One awarded    



Greater Kansas City Chapter AACN Scholarship Program

In the upper right hand corner, you will find the application form, the scholarship due dates, The Julie Wooden Gates NTI scholarship additional criteria if you are applying for that scholarship, and the point system for scholarships.   

Key points to remember:
  • You may only apply for one scholarship during the 2017-2018 year.
  • You may not apply for a scholarship if you’ve received that specific scholarship last year, however you may apply for a different one.  
  • The application must be complete, with all the required areas addressed.
  • You may be asked to show proof for point application: 
    CEUs from programs
    Copy of National AACN membership
    Copy of AACN certifications
    Copy of program if coordinator or presenter
  • To calculate your scholarship points you may go back one year from your scholarship’s due date.
  • There are no minimum required numbers of points to apply; however, we do require membership to the Greater Kansas City Chapter of AACN

Scholarship Points




Scholarship winners will be chosen based upon application completeness, depth of thought put into each question, and award points.  All awards require membership in the local Greater Kansas City AACN Chapter.  Supporting documentation of activities may be requested.  Please retain a copy for your personal records.  If you have questions regarding the application process, please feel free to contact Janet Marts at 913-449-7746.
